New Temple Lodge No 1438 - Installation meeting a triumph!

Paul Renton, who is an Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals for the West Lancs Royal Arch, is also employed as a trainer of Rugby referees around the globe. Despite this, he still seems very popular in his Mark Lodge!  The Provincial Grand Master and his team of 32 Acting Officers descended on Chorley, and we were privileged to witness a truly stunning Installation ceremony.  Paul Renton did all the work from the Chair himself, in an absolutely exemplary manner. The new WM, Andrew Bibby, works as the Procurement Officer for Lancs Fire & Rescue, and was absolutely delighted at the way the day progressed.

Paul Renton did a superb job in the chair
The Lodge made sizeable donations to the Bowland & Pennine Mountain Rescue team, with a further donation coming from Province to boost the charitable giving, which was loudly applauded.
The Provincial Grand Master spoke after dinner about a very important initiative, that of providing defibrillators throughout the Province to halls where they are not yet provided.  These machines require no formal training to use, and as such can be used in an emergency by an absolute novice. They will only administer a charge if the machine verifies the victim is actually suffering a heart attack, and are therefore suitable to be used by anyone at the scene - a tremendous step forward in saving lives!  If treated within 4-5 minutes, a victim has a 60-70 % chance of survival. Without treatment this can be as low as 8%......

The new machines will be listed under a national registry which can inform members of the public that we have a machine on site at a nearby Masonic hall, and thereby help save lives in the local community, as well as in our halls.  And all provided by the Mark Degree brethren. We should be all very proud of this latest initiative!
The festive board was a wonderfully friendly event, and everyone left Chorley appreciating what a great ceremony they had witnessed, in a very welcoming and successful Lodge.
